Colorado economic update

The latest Colorado employment report showed the state experienced strong over-the-month job growth for March, April, and May.
On an over-the-year basis, Colorado May 2025 employment is 22,200 greater than in May 2024. Not a rosy performance, but it is positive.
On an over-the-year basis, the leaders in absolute job growth were healthcare, state government, food and accommodation, and local government. Total employment in these four sectors increased by 35,100. There were sectors with a minimal or negative change in employment. These four sectors are critical to a well-rounded economy; unfortunately, they will not drive sustained economic growth. For more details, go to https://cber.co/economic-updates/.
On June 18, the Governor’s Office of State Planning and Budgeting released its quarterly economic update, https://www.colorado.gov/governor/economics, and the Colorado Legislative Council published its update, https://leg.colorado.gov/EconomicForecasts. Both reports provide additional analysis of economic activity throughout Colorado.
