County hosts Northwest Colorado Small Business Development Center
The Northwest Colorado Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has a new home and a new regional director. As of March, Eagle County Government now serves as the SBDC’s local host at 500 Broadway in Eagle. Earlier this month, Erin McCuskey was selected to serve as its regional director.
The Northwest SBDC offers free or low-cost consulting and training for both emerging and existing small businesses. The northwest region includes Eagle, Garfield, Pitkin, Summit, Clear Creek, Gilpin, Grand, Jackson, Routt and Moffat counties. Information on available services can be found at www.northwestsbdc.org.
McCuskey is a 12-year resident of Eagle County with a background in Human Resources, specifically workforce development and recruitment. Originally from Iowa, she is a graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in journalism. “I look forward to developing community partnerships, providing pathways to opportunity by expanding professional career options, and most importantly, supporting small businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs,” said McCuskey.
“One of our strategic goals is to promote a diverse and resilient economy,” said Eagle County Commissioner Jeanne McQueeney. “Partnering with the SBDC supports our small local businesses, which in turn helps diversify our economic base.”
