Colorado economic growth forecast
With the release of year-end employment and wage data for Colorado, this cber.co economic analysis takes a deeper dive into the state’s economy as a way of understanding what lies ahead for the remainder of the year. Colorado is on track to post modest growth in the remaining three quarters of the year.
A few of the highlights from the Colorado update are:
- In 2019, the rate of real GDP growth for the state will top the rate for the U.S.
- The state’s population will increase by about 75,000 people – similar to last year.
- In 2019, the state will add about 58,600 jobs, slightly less than last year.
- The unemployment rate will be 3.6% in 2019.
- Weekly average wages increased by 5.4% in 2018, stronger than expected.
- Housing prices are appreciating at a slower rate than in recent years.
