The legislative special session begins on Thursday (August 21), and Mayor Johnston laid off 171 city workers this week.
The outlook is for continued growth in economic activity and the labor market, although the growth is lower than desired. On the bright side, a recession is not in the forecast. The state has faced challenging times in the past. This too shall pass.
