Colorado economic update
Through the first seven months of 2025, U.S. employment has been surprisingly solid.
On the other hand, the June Colorado data showed job losses of 1,500, on top of a downward revision for the May data. May employment was estimated to be 3,400; however, the recent revision resulted in a decrease of 2,400 jobs.
On a YOY basis, Colorado employment is 10,600 greater than a year ago. Through June, government employment is up by 10,000 employees, and the private sector has increased by only 600. It is essential to have effective government leadership; however, the government does not drive the Colorado economy.
