Colorado Will Avoid a Recession in 2024

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that Colorado employment declined by 3,900 in November, and there was a downward revision to the October employment. It appears the state employment will increase by 44,000 in 2024, well below the 2023 level of 72,300. On a positive note, Colorado avoided a recession and a downturn is unlikely in 2025.
A number of significant data revisions are in store that will affect population and employment data. Those will follow in the months ahead.
