Describe Your Success Story
My two partners and I started a BBQ stand on the side of the road in Edwards in 2001.  We sold out of food for 100 days straight.  We soon moved into Lionshead where we could operate year round.  One thing led to another and now we operate 35 restaurants around the country.  I strongly believe that Vail played an instrumental part in our success.

Why did you choose to do business in the Vail Valley?
Why Vail…look around. The day I moved here I knew this was my home. When I realized there was no BBQ, I knew my niche.

What are the advantages of doing business here?
The main advantage to doing business in the Vail Valley is the lifestyle. The international platform and exposure is very exciting also. The off seasons give you a built in vacation time to regroup and renew.

What advice would you give to someone entering the mountain economy?
Prepare for the shoulder seasons.  When we began, we would make a lot of money during the season, and then spend it all in the down time. We have since learned the cycles. I believe in offering a product to both locals and destination guests. Offer something that our local crowd cannot live without, eventually guests will follow suit.
