Airline Service is Important to Our Community!
Summer travelers arriving through the airport contribute another $27 million dollars into Eagle County's economy.
What is the Eagle Air Alliance?
Formed in 2002, the EGE Air Alliance is a 501-c6 non-profit public-private partnership that provides the funding to support a vibrant local flight service program that ensures that the Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) remains a vital part of the Eagle County economy.
What does the Alliance do?
The mission of the EGE Air Alliance is to work with airlines to maintain existing flights and secure new flights to and from the Eagle County Regional Airport. Air services are not guaranteed by any airline, and the EGE Air Alliance is the one organization that works directly with them to maintain and grow new flights and air routes into Eagle County.
Currently, the EGE Air Alliance is funded through annual voluntary contributions from public & private sources. This puts Eagle County Regional Airport at a distinct competitive disadvantage in attracting new flight routes compared with many competing mountain resort communities, some of which have annual flight guarantee budgets over 8 times larger than that available to EGE Air Alliance.
For the past several years, total available seats into Eagle County Regional Airport has been declining:
We face strong competition from other mountain resort communities who have dedicated, guaranteed funding sources to grow their air service, while EGE Air Alliance does not.
