New Free SBDC Program Provides HR Assistance to Colorado Small Businesses

Colorado small business owners can now receive assistance with human resource (HR) needs through a new free program offered by the Colorado Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network in partnership with Courtside® Consulting.

The new SBDC HR Small Business program is designed for busy small business owners who need assistance understanding and implementing HR regulations, creating programs and HR manuals for employees and managing employee performance challenges.

“We saw a gap in available services to the small business community and now we are able to offer these types of services that might have otherwise been unavailable to the small business owner,” said SBDC director and deputy director of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade Kelly Manning. “We are excited to see the outcomes and economic impact associated with the work that can be accomplished here.”

The program provides SBDC clients with three months of calls with the group coaching call program, EPPiC, unlimited access to the online HR library, HR Zipline, and three direct contacts with Courtney Berg, Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and the owner and CEO of CourtSide® Consulting.

“The typical small business owner is always juggling ten things at once, and HR issues typically get pushed to the bottom of the pile. We are hoping that business owners can take advantage of this new program and be prepared for whatever issues come their way,” said Berg. “It’s difficult to grow a business without help. Our passion is to make managing your team and building a culture of excellence, easier. It is an honor to partner with the Colorado SBDC Network to bring these services to the Colorado small business community.”

The program is free for first 90 days then businesses can opt to participate in one of the two packages specially designed for SBDC clients or participate in another CourtSide® Consulting program. Interested businesses should contact their local SBDC office or go online to learn more at http://www.coloradosbdc.org/resources/free-hr-resources.
